A Whole New Approach to Dogwalking
Let us train your dog for you
You wouldn’t expect your kid to attend one day of school and be educated, would
you? Then why do we think that would work with our dog? Unfortunately, it doesn’t.
But, don’t worry, we have a great solution. Let us send a professional trainer to
your home to train your dog while you’re at work. That’s right, we offer in-home
training…and we’ll take care of their dog walking needs, too!

The truth is, you’re busy, but your dog isn’t. That’s where we come in. Through
regular training, dogs become proficient at understanding what people want from
them, and are more well-rounded and fun to be around. But don’t get me wrong,
our training is anything but “regular”. We offer a true enrichment program that
involves all sorts of fun training, with a focus on motivation and tricks (if your dog
doesn’t want to do it, why would we?). Honestly, if we just taught your dog to sit, lie
down, and stay, not only would training be pretty boring and mindless, but we
wouldn’t need on-going classes. Your dog probably already knows these things.
Instead, let’s get deeper and teach them much more. The tricks we train can be
anything from  mind puzzles to manners building exercises, to muscle building
tasks (or better yet, a combination of these elements). Additionally, dogs often get
more tired from thinking games than from physical exercise. We promise to leave
your pooch “pooped” and content.

Homeschooling is
continuing education for
your dog. It happens at your
home, while your away
(although we're happy to
provide you with instruction,
too).

Surely your dog knows how
to sit, maybe even knows a
trick or two. But does your
dog know how to learn a
complex routine, like
weaving through poles,
standing on a stool like a
circus elephant or leap
through the air to tag your
hand and position himself in
heel?

Does your dog's physical
agility program entail
doggie sit ups, jumping,
bending, and balancing
exercises?

For you to teach these
behaviors  requires a lot of
time, skill, dedication,
knowledge, and can be
extremely frustrating and
progress slow. As a
professional trainer, my
time is consumed in the
pursuit of such skills, it is
my love and delight. After
20 years of working
professionally with animals,
some things just come
easy. Let my talents work
for you by not only helping
train the mundane, but also
enrich your dog's world,
developing them both
mentally and athletically.
Dogs learn to perform tricks that:
       provide physical conditioning
promote body awareness, balance, and agility
       teach them boundaries and respect
build their desire to utilize self-control
help them master things like stay, wait, and asking “please”
create a dog that loves to “work” for you
give you a cache of fun parlor tricks
get you fast sits and happy downs
teach them how to discriminate between cues
       and more!

We love tricks  because they have a lot of added benefits: like teaching your dog appropriate interactive behaviors to use with guests, and they give you something
to redirect your dog to do when encountering difficult situations in the outside world,
rather than asking them not to misbehave. It's not much different than a proactive
and interactive relationship with a child. If you just watch and see what a child will
do without giving them any guidance, they miss out on your wisdom, and may make
bad choices. Dog training, too, has evolved far beyond the traditional methods we
grew up with. The trick is finding trainers who really get this approach, are open
and receptive, and don't expect anyone to commit to involved or abstract routines
in order to accomplish training. Oh yeah, and probably most important, dogs can
only learn so much at once, and they need a lot of consistent repetition to
completely learn new behaviors. This requires on-going education...
